Living by Faith DailyLiving by faith means you need to place your faith in God that He would take care of all your needs. However, you should not misinterpret this as "I don't need to work anymore since God will take care of me". Living by faith means having confidence that God will supply all you needs. There is a big difference between "needs" and "wants". When you use up your money gambling and then ask God to provide your food, would He really be providing you your needs? No. When you choose to indulge your wants so that your needs are ignored, then you wouldn't be living by faith, you would be living by abuse. Living by faith should not be strange to us since we live by faith every day. How else can one man sleep peacefully except when he has faith that he will wake up in the morning? We live by faith day by day. People only start to question it when it comes to God. What is living by faith? For one thing, it is living while knowing that there will be consequences to your every action. It is living knowing that God's rules apply to you as it does to everyone else. While a chair may fail you and cause you to fall, living by faith means placing your faith in Someone who will not disappoint your belief. Living by faith means living while trusting God. Living by faith requires people to pray, knowing that someone is listening. Prayer in itself requires much faith. Without faith, you will just be speaking to yourself and should definitely check yourself in to a mental asylum. Living by faith requires you to do right even when nobody else is looking. The real test of faith is when you are all alone. This is because the person who lives by faith knows that he is never truly alone. Living by faith requires you to understand that God is constantly watching over you and that you will always be in his arms. As you can see, living by faith is not all about enjoying the privilege of God's blessings. Living by faith is also about living with God's rules. Man is a creature who is extremely adept at justification. We make laws in order to bring order to society, but there are people who use these laws to appear innocent. Living by faith is not like living by the law. Living by faith requires a person to judge his actions in terms of virtue. Virtue is what tells each person whether he is doing something for good or ill. In the judgment of virtue, no person can hide behind technicalities. Living by faith requires you to make sure that virtue has a great voice in your decisions. Living by faith requires you to be just. Now we have come to full circle. The just shall live by faith and, as you can see, the faithful live justly. That is the meaning of living by faith. Comments |
